There can be a number of reasons for it,
- The directory you installed the VA is write-protected and requires higher privilege to write the data
- The Settings file is not being loaded on start-up
- Your main user file is corrupted and so on...
I propose is that you navigate to the users directory and manually change the name using a text editor. (For this I am going to assume you have some basic knowledge of system administration and directory permissions)
Its usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Syn Virtual Assistant\
Firstly uninstall the VA and install it in a different directory like D
Drive instead of C
. So that your installation looks something like the following.
D:\Program Files (x86)\Syn Virtual Assistant\Syn\Users\
Then under the aforementioned directory you will find the MainUser.xml
file. Open it with Notepad and Change the text Unknown
to your name.
Save the file and restart the VA.
