Speech active listening

Mon Feb 06, 2017 8:04 pm

Hi,

To start, I love your libraries :) Thanks for your work!

I'm trying to build a bot, and I want to use the syn speech. However, I can't find the way to have an active listening. I don't want to use .wav files, I want the bot to be always listening, and fire an event when I say his/her name. Example

blabla blablabla (me speking) blablabla... "Jarvis, what time is it?"

THEN, at that point, an event will be fired and my bot will tell me the time. I have all the code in C# already so I have the bot working, but by command line.

I've read all the documentation in the help file: http://developer.syn.co.in/tutorial/speech/index.html, but I can't see anything. I see that there is micro streaming though, but I dunno how to use it and can't find any doc about it.

I'll appreciate any help :)

Cheers!

You can refer the online sample for hints.

Well I've downloaded and played around with the sample code, but there is nothing like what I mention.

After some more research, I found that what I want to do is called "hot word" or "wake word" recognition

you'll have to work with audio streams for this I guess. NAudio maybe? look for spikes in mic audio stream and create a recording and then send it to ASR.
