The Previous tag usage is not appropriate. The Previous tag must contain the last sentence of the last utterance. Hence it should be "Give me an expression" without any punctuation marks.

SIML Code

<Model>
  <Pattern>EVAL EXPRESSION</Pattern>
  <Response>OK. Give me an Expression</Response>
</Model>

<Model>
  <Pattern>*</Pattern>
  <Previous>Give me an Expression</Previous>
  <Response>Result: <x:expression><Match /></x:expression></Response>
</Model>

Syn Chatbot Studio uses the same Syn.Bot Library and all Console outputs are directly from the interpreter. Are you using the latest version of Syn.Bot class library from NuGet.

If so, can you show some code that you are using in your application so that I can figure this out for you.
