New voices?

Sun Feb 15, 2015 11:01 pm

I'm stuck with Microsoft Anna...who just sounds horrible and outdated :( What other voices do YOU guys use? Are there free downloads/installs? Do you have any links for these?

if you are running windows 7 or "maybe" xp you should go to microsoft and install speech platform 11 ,sdk11,and rutime languages11,and you are supposed to be able to use the 3 wind.8 voices, from them is..Supported Operating Systems-
Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista all 3 voices are great and when syn uses the voice it sounds quite different, very pleasing.Hope this helps.also you might check out the free jarvis voice over in 3rd party add ons.

I got a few good voices installed on Windows 7 64 bit using this page for downloads: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=27225

and this for the instructions. It took about 3 minutes tops :)

Hope that helps someone else! IMO, the ZiraPro is the best, cleanest sounding, but it mispronounces a few things

That's what was happening to me too. I'd download and install them, but they never showed up in the dropdown menu in my text to speech settings. Those instructions and simple registry edits made them all appear

Had tons of issues getting SAPI default voices working after downloading the SDK files.

You can get free voices here, http://www.cepstral.com/en/personal/windows

If you got few bucks to spend, you can even register the voice. I bought "EN-US Robin" for 10 usd. Somehow it fits into the software perfectly.

The current best text to speech software for your pc is Text Speaker. It has customizable pronunciation, reads anything on your screen, and it even has talking reminders. The bundled voices are well priced and sound very human.t Voices are available in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, and more. Easily converts blogs, email, e-books, and more to MP3 or for listening instantly.

I found a nice voice that works on my Windows 10 64 bit. I got it months ago and I can't recall the exact link. I did a search for Microsoft Eva Mobile and came up with a voice that sounds something like a smoother Zira, almost Cortana. I tried to upload the .reg file here for it, but the forums won't allow it :(
