Search plugin

Mon Jul 31, 2017 10:24 pm

Hi Guys,

Firstly, the more I use Vaframework and Synbot studio the more I like it! Keep up the good work.

I've a quick question.. I'm getting to know Visual studio (thanks to my interest in synbot). I've been trying to edit the search function.
I.e, Search Google for *. I know you can just add a search engine to the searchenginelist xml file but I don't know what plugin it uses.
eg
<Item Name="Foogle" Value="http://www.Foogle.com/search?q={0}" />
I've tried using the chat console to find the concept including changing 'SEARCH' to things like 'look up'/'find' etc but just can't seem to find what the response is...

Hope this makes sense! Any help is much appreciated.

We are glad to find the VA Framework a good platform to work with and enjoy at the same time.

The VA uses the SearchSiteAdapter in Launcher plugin. All search engines that you save via the settings panel are converted to SIML Maps during startup. You can find the SIML code within /Syn/Bot/Commands/Plugins/Launcher of the installation directory.
